Mobile apps
Mobile apps for the App Store and Google Play
We write a single codebase for iPhone and Android in Flutter or React Native, or build a native app when the project calls for it. The app works with the same data as your website or web app.
Technology and security
- App
- Flutter or React Native, native Swift / Kotlin when needed
- On-device data
- Keychain (iOS), Keystore (Android)
- API connection
- HTTPS, OAuth 2.0 / JWT, session expiry
- Backend
- The same as your website or web app
- After launch
- Crash reporting, updates for new iOS and Android versions
The service in detail
With Flutter or React Native, we write one codebase that runs on both iPhone and Android. That way, a new feature or a fix is written once and reaches both platforms. When an app needs to be native, we write it in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
Behind the app sits the same backend as your website or web application, so a customer or an order is only entered once. The backend has the same protection and the same backups as our web applications.
Why trust us
Secure storage on the phone
Anything sensitive the app keeps on the device is stored only in the operating system's secure storage: Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android.
No keys inside the app
The app talks to the API only over HTTPS, using OAuth 2.0 or JWT tokens, and user sessions expire. It doesn't carry API keys or passwords that someone could extract from the app package.
A report for every crash
When the app crashes on someone's phone, the crash report comes to us. We don't have to hear about it from a store review.
The app is published in your name
The App Store and Google Play developer accounts are registered in your name. If you ever switch to another developer, the app and its code stay yours.
How we work
What it does and who it's for
We start with what the app will do and who will use it. Then you get a written proposal with costs and a timeline.
Backend and API
We build or extend the backend so the app and your website work from the same data.
The same checks as our web apps
Every change gets code review and automated tests, and we're alerted as soon as a vulnerability turns up in any library the app uses. It's the same security pipeline we use for our web applications.
Publishing to the app stores
We prepare the submission and publish the app on the App Store and Google Play.
Frequently asked questions
Do you write apps in Flutter, React Native or native code?
Usually in Flutter or React Native, which give you one codebase for iOS and Android. When a project needs a native app, we write it in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
Will the app have the same data as my website?
Yes. The app reads from and writes to the same database as your website or web application. Anything you enter on your phone also shows up on the site, and vice versa.
What happens when a new version of iOS or Android comes out?
We prepare the update the app needs for the new version and publish it to the app stores. Its libraries are updated automatically, just as with our web applications.
How much does a mobile app cost?
There's no fixed price. It depends mainly on the app's features and on whether there's already a backend it can use. You'll see the figure in the written proposal we send you.
